Mariana García, representing Departamento de Guatemala, was crowned Miss Universe Guatemala 2018 in a glittering finale held August 31 at Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias in Guatemala City.
She bested 10 other candidates for the title and the right to represent the country in Bangkok, Thailand for the 2018 Miss Universe competition in December.
Thalia Carredano of San Marcos was named Miss Grand Guatemala 2018. Keila Rodas (Suchitepéquez) finished first runner-up, while Edel Galvez (Guatemala USA) was second runner-up. Valerie Aguilar (Santa Rosa) and Iris Pimentel (Jutiapa) were third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Missosology.Org
