A 22-year-old law student from Żejtun was crowned the new Miss Universe Malta during the finals held July 13.
Francesca Mifsud bested 24 other candidates for the right to represent her country in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition. She also receieved the Best Physique award.
Lyann Iles and Marilena Gauci placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
