This year’s batch of Miss Earth delegates is proving to be one of the most competitive ever. From their individual environmental advocies to professionally produced eco-videos, it can’t be denied that these girls have been pouring their heart, mind and soul as women of the Earth.

With only a few days left before they all arrive in the Philippines to compete for the chance to become Angelia Ong’s worthy successor, it’s about time we reveal our PRE-ARRIVAL PICKS.

Now leading our list is 19-year-old Corrin Stellakis from the USA. This communication and social interaction student believes education is the key to reducing the effects of climate change. “The more people who know the facts, the more they will make an effort to aid the cause,” she says.

The USA came close to winning the title last year (Brittany Payne finished as Miss Water) and this time, Corrin has all the makings of becoming the next Miss Earth queen. With a beautiful face, the gift of gab, the pageant experience and the passion for nature, USA is definitely one to watch out for.

In second place is the gorgeous Miss Venezuela Stephanie De Zorzi. She was supposed to compete in 2014 but was replaced the last minute for allegedly gaining extra pounds. But with a new franchise holder (in the person of Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich), this 23-year-old model is given another chance to prove her worth. “Now I feel much better, [and] very confident that I will win the contest,” she says.

She’s down to third place, but that doesn’t mean Luissa Burton‘s star has dimmed. In fact this 26-year-old model from Worcestershire, England has impressed a lot of people and gained more supporters during her FB Live session at the Missosology page a week ago. “In a world with so much evil, I think it is important to consciously practice kindness,” Luissa says.

Completing our elemental court for now is the bubbly Miss Myanmar Nang Khine Shwe Wah Win. From an ordinary girl in Kayin State, this 18-year-old student has now become a voice for environmental education in her country. “I will do my best to make my country and my people proud,” she says.
