Reeling from the sudden dethronement of its original winner, the Miss World Kenya 2016 has finally chosen its new queen. A few days ago, Kenya was in shock as Roshanara Ebrahim was stripped of her Miss World Kenya title. Citing breach of Code of Conduct and contract, the organizers didn’t bother to elaborate further fueling speculations. Fortunately, there was little struggle as Roshanara quickly conceded though expressing “great sadness”.
Evelyn Djambi will now represent Kenya at Miss World 2016 pageant which will be held in Washington D.C. with finals set on December 20. She is the first runner-up to Roshanara and is a 23 year-old interior design student at Maseno University.
So far there are four Kenyan beauties who made it to the semis of Miss World. In 2014, Idah Nguma made Kenya proud after she won the Beauty with a Purpose award together with the contestants from Brazil, Guyana, India and Indonesia). Idah also made it to the Top 26.
