Reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna from Spain is spending the week in Puerto Rico as a special guest to the Miss Mundo Puerto Rico organisation.
During her arrival, she was received by Secretary of State Rolando Torres Carrión and was joined by Puerto Rico National Director and Miss World 1975 Wilnelia Merced, and reigning Miss Mundo Puerto Rico Keysi Vargas.
“For me it is an honour to be in this country that I have never visited before. It is the first time I’m in the Caribbean and all the people have received me very well,” she said during the press conference.
Mireia also spent time with children at the San Jorge Children’s Hospital in Santurce.
“It was a great experience. It is the first time I have visited a hospital like this. It is quite shocking at times, to see what these kids are going through, but I am glad I can bring some joy to their lives, even if it is for one day.”
She also appeared on “Paparazzi TV”, a popular entertainment show on Puerto Rico’s Mega TV, to talk about her reign as Miss World.
Before flying to Puerto Rico, Mireia attended the Miss Indonesia finals and participated in the annual Variety telethon in Iowa in the US. – Missosology.Org
