Maja Spahija from Sibenik is the new Miss Croatia for Miss World (Miss Hrvatske za Miss Svijeta) after winning over 16 other equally stunning women in a pageant held on June 12. The first runner-up is Catherine Čavar from Zagreb, while the second runner up Anja Bijelic from Zadar.
Maja will compete in the upcoming Miss World 2015 pageant held on December 19 in Sanya, China. Her country had a good run in the 1993, 1994 and 1995 editions of Miss World culminating with a first runner-up finish in 1995. Since then Croatia only added 2 semifinalists – in 1999 and 2008.
