Leah Kalanguka, 23, prevailed over 19 other finalists snatching the Miss Uganda 2014 title and therefore earned her the right to represent her nation at the Miss World 2014 pageant. It will be held in London with the finals on December 14.
Leah, a former mushroom and poultry farmer, is thrilled with her victory in a pageant that has refocused its attention to the issues regarding farming. Wearing her crown and sash, she later claimed to the press that agriculture and beauty go hand and hand. She further claimed that agriculture is a Ugandan value.
The Miss Uganda 2014 pageant was held in the capital city of Kampala on October 26. Brenda Iriama emerged as the first runner-up while the 2nd runner up is Yasmin Taban.
