While Germany was busy with the 2017 federal elections last Sunday, September 24, the country’s representative to the next Miss Universe pageant was also elected.
Sophia Koch, a 20-year-old social studies and German literature student from the University of Halle, was crowned Miss Universe Germany 2017 during the ceremony held Windhagen.
She is now set to compete in the next edition of the Miss Universe pageant. She was crowned by last year’s winner Johanna Acs.
Koch loves to dance ballet and speaks four languages: German, English, French and Spanish.
Sophie Imelmann and Dalina Staszewski placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
Germany won the Miss Universe crown once: in 1961 with Marlene Schmidt. Missosology.Org
