The Mexicana Universal 2020 competition concluded on November 29 in Querétaro with pageant veteran Andrea Meza winning the top plum.
The 26-year-old model and software engineering graduate from Chihuahua bested 30 other candidates for the title and the right to represent Mexico in the next edition of the Miss Universe pageant.
Meza previously represented Mexico in Miss World 2017 in Sanya, China and placed as first princess.
Other winners
Former Miss Earth Mexico Karen Bustos of San Luis Potosí was crowned Mexicana Charm Internacional 2020. Also crowned in the same event were Mexicana Hispanoamericana 2020 Andrea Bazarte (Nuevo Leon) and Mexicana Latinoamericana Universal 2020 Ángeles Castro (Oaxaca).
Sinaloa’s Debora Hallal, Ciudad de Mexico’s Brenda Smith, and Puebla’s Camila Canta were first, second and third runners-up, respectively.
Mexico won the Miss Universe crown twice: in 1991 with Lupita Jones and 2010 with Ximena Navarette. The country currently ranks 12th in Missosology Big5 Ranking. Missosology.Org
