The Miss Universe Organization has been asking the public to help them come up with the Best in National Costume winner. Five costumes emerged as the front runners as of the press time and they are:

16314362156_0990aefba0_b1.) Miss Argentina Valentia Ferrer’s lavish white costume complete. The gargantuan work of ark is complemented with angelic wings and feathers designed by Marcelo Pendola. The costume represents the Perito Moreno glacier found in the province of Santa Cruz accented with the southern seagull wings and subtle colors of the aurora borealis.

16314358796_0e773f2f18_b2.) Miss Canada Chanel Beckenlehner’s hockey costume. It consists of all things hockey complete with a scoreboard that pays homage to her country’s most favorite game. Hockey is where the Canadians excel and is also the country’s national winter sport.

16314444616_8c2046f4f2_b3.) Miss India Noyonita Lodh’s mind boggling traditional costume. The costume is complete with a beautiful headdres and a sexy top. The details are interesting and unmistakably Indian. The costume is definitely mesmerizing and why it would not be? It was designed by top fashion designer Neeta Lulla.

16314401446_435091a06e_b4.) Miss Germany Josefin Donat’s the fall of Berlin Wall. This is an interesting costume that depicts a momentous occasion in Germany’s history. The images on the skirt took inspiration from the images sketched in the Berlin Wall – a physical form of the so-called Iron Curtain.

16152752588_c97213fabc_b5.) Miss Indonesia Elvira Devinamira’s homage to Borobudur. The famed Buddhist temple right in the heartland of Java is one of the architectural wonders of the world. The stupas and artworks were carefully copied and artistically transformed into the fabulous costume.

      • As a born and raised Canadian, I must say that Rose is correct. Previously, lacrosse was Canada’s national sport. However, on May 12, 1994, lacrosse was redefined as Canada’s national summer sport and ice hockey was introduced as Canada’s national winter sport. This change was made over a decade ago. You’d think the users proudly wielding the word “Canadian” in their usernames ought to know this, hmm?

    • Oh, but it is. Hockey is Canada’s winter national sport, just as
it is referenced above. Only semi-recently was Lacrosse added as the
summer national sport. At least that’s my understanding.

  1. I really don’t get what people have about Argentina… I don’t feel impressed about her… She’s beautiful, but I can’t see the gorgeous lady some people talk around here, even after the preliminary competition…
