Our Forum Experts Select the Hottests Miss Universe 2008 Delegates
by Ric G. Galvez

Miss Puerto Rico 2008This week's Hot Picks produced a rather predictable results. Venezuela, Puerto Rico, India and USA garnered the top four spots and all of them are the so-called superpowers. Sash factor plays a huge role here but it doesn’t mean that their delegate lacks that sparkle. Topnotch Miss Venezuela Dayana Mendoza was described by one of our judges nicknamed Bb.Pilipinas (Singapore) as one of the best Miss Venezuelas ever, noting her fresh face and overall vibrancy. Surely, Venezuela will deliver something this year.

Puerto Rico may again come back to spotlight after their failure last year. One of our judges from Caribbean, Silvio (Jamaica), described this year’s Puerto Rican delegate Ingrid Marie Rivera Santos as someone with experienced attitude.

India is also roaring to go. Rajat a judge from India for example described his country’s delegate as tall, intelligent and regal. A more detailed description came from ~The Indian Geek~ (India). He said that unlike recent Miss Indias, Simran Kaur Mundi has a catwalk skill to die for and an undeniable aura. Although pictures don't do justice to her, he believes that she looks great in person and she will shine at Vietnam after the extensive training by Femina team.

Miss Turkey Begüm Kiziltug has been the talk of the town for many weeks. Turkey will be a very serious contender and everyone should take note of the thoughts of Miss Universe 1000 BC (Expert Missosologist)about her. As a beauty expert, he thinks that it's the first time he saw Turkey sending a VERY strong candidate.

Eliška Bucková of Czech Republic on the other hand, who is on the sixth position, was described by judge Taxi Taki (Indonesia) as, “very beautiful and exotic indeed. Finally a dark haired girl, after some years in a row filled by blondes. She is better than last year's Lucie Hadasova.”

Both Russia and Belgium has been persistent in any Top 15 list these days. And both are blonde and beautiful. Miss Russia Ksenia Sukhinova is best described by Silvio as someone that exudes a calming effect, very sweet beauty, so delicately beautiful that you want to be her knight in shining armor. Meanwhile Miss Belgium Alizee Poulicek was acclaimed by jlef1_87 (Philippines) as the best Miss Belgium ever! He described her as a classic blonde beauty having a great background in modelling. Indeed a complete package! But jlef1_87 may have forgotten Christelle Roelandts in 1994 but whether Christelle is in the same place as Alizee is highly debatable.

Now here’s a political issue that needs resolving – Will Miss Kosovo Zana Krasniqi really participate at Miss Universe 2008? Judge Captain Moon (Japan) said, “I was hesitant in including this girl [Miss Kosovo] in my Top 5.” He cited politics as a major factor but concluded that it would be unfair not to include Kosovo seeing that she looks just like Angelina Jolie.

Miss Ukraine 2008Miss Ukraine Eleonora Masalab may not impress everyone but judge Bb. Pilipinas thinks otherwise. He said, “I like this girl because of the aura, her accomplishments in the past and her placements in other pageants were good. I think she will do great in Miss Universe and will represent Ukraine in a different beat this time.” And judge timawa(Philippines) who ranked Miss Ukraine as number one, has a more detailed explanation:

“Putting Ukraine at the #1 slot is not a popular choice. Eleonora has an unconventional beauty that not all or most people can appreciate. She may have unflattering candid pictures but I am quite sure that she can stand out. With her very hot body and the way she projects in front of the camera, I have seen something in her that most people probably don't notice or feel. On another note, she is Miss Ukraine, and I am convinced on the Miss Ukraine Universe Organization’s announcement that her selection is the most unbiased in the history of their pageant, not to mention the jury line up that spells “Trump”. In any case, I believe that not only she can beat the competition. She can crush the competition! Her weakness: she doesn’t have a legion of fans.”

If an award should be given for having the most refreshing beauty, then Miss Colombia Taliana Vargas is the frontrunner claims judge mochalicious (Los Angeles, California). He also believes that inconsistency is Miss Colombia’s major letdown. Concluded mochalicious, “She possesses great catwalk skills and amazing body (hope stays that way) with a divine smile and a cutesy look. I just admire this type of beauty because it’s relatable and amiable.”

Miss Mexico 2008Miss Brazil Natalia Anderle is described by judge Captain Moon as another Natalia Guimaraes. Miss Japan Hiroko Mima meanwhile looks, according to judge jlef1_87, simple and appealing [perhaps yet instead of and?] while ~The Indian Geek~ has an interesting take on Miss Albania Matilda Mecini by saying that she is very pretty, but should stop doing the 'Marilyn Monroe' thing in her photos.

Miss Mexico Elisa Nájera fills the last spot. Taxi taki is the judge that ranked her the highest. He claims that Elisa is a taller version of Katie Holmes. But concluded that Elisa is more stunning than Katie.
