Mabelynn Capeluj won the Miss California USA 2013 title this Sunday [Monday, Manila Time] at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The Miss California USA pageant is responsible for producing six Miss USAs including the 2011 winner Alyssa Campanella. Last year, the winner of the pageant, Natalie Pack, failed to advance at the Miss USA semis. It was also a year when the state pageant made some news for including two openly lesbian contestants. This year, Kylan Arianna Wenzel, 26, of Century City became the first transgender to compete in the pageant.
Mabelynn will compete at the Miss USA 2013 finals in June in a yet to be disclosed venue.
