Here is the official Press Release of Miss World Philippines during the send-off of Queenierich Rehman:
Barely three weeks after winning the crown, Miss World Philippines 2012 Queeneerich Rehman leaves to compete for the 62nd Miss World Pageant in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. With little time to prepare, much is expected from the new queen, especially her predecessor Gwendoline Ruias bagged the First Princess crown in last year’s competition.
After her win, Queeneerich went through rigorous training to better equip her for the pageant including Mandarin lessons and a course in social media management. She also visited the National Children’s Hospital and Philippine General Hospital Children’s Ward as part of her beauty with a purpose campaign.
In true Miss World fashion, beauty is not simply defined by a woman’s external appearance but also by her willingness to serve and give one’s self for others. It is the pageant’s principle of “Beauty in Giving” that a woman truly utilizes her God-given talents. With this, Miss World, the most prestigious and longest-running beauty pageant, introduces another component in its judging system in determining the most beautiful woman.
This year, Miss World launches Miss World Multimedia Award. Each contestant will have section in the Miss World website (www.missworld.com) where they will be able to update their supporters with their own photo and video uploads. They can also interact with their fans via various social networks. Contestants will be judged on how they present their web section. The best presentation will earn fast-track points on the Miss World scoreboard.

The Miss World Pageant will be held on August 18, 2012 and will be broadcast live from Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China on TV5.

Can the Philippines really pull off a winner this time around? Well, here are the reasons why and why can't the Philippines be victorious this time around.
Why the Philippines can win:
1.) It's long overdue. After several years of being in the the semis, the Philippines is yet to produce a Miss World and it has already two first runners-up. The country is faring well with three of the Big4 pageants with one Miss Earth, two Misses Universe, and four Misses International. Having zero Miss World is quite odd.
2.) Last year's 1st runner-up is from the Philippines. Which is quite a good sign but this does not translate to winning the crown the following year. This indicates however that the country is heading to the right track and it has the attention of Miss World.
3.) Queenierich is Miss World-esque. Her aloof manners and sweet aura reflects more or less the winners of Miss World lately.
Why the Philippines can't win
1.) Strained Sino-Philippine relations. If politics will come into play, Queenierich will suffer from the territorial row of her country and that of the host nation.
2.) The rivals are too tough. This year could be marked as a year when Miss World had too many stunners. Competition from the host nation, Colombia, Venezuela, Nepal and Ukraine could make the path towards the crown narrower.
3.) Lack of preparation. The drastic changes in pageantry seasons could hit a toll on Queenierich. Miss World came too early!
