In the next few hours, a new set of Bb. Pilipinas winners will be crowned and among the crowns being sought, the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe is the most prestigious. After landing in the Top 5 for two consecutive years at Miss Universe, the Philippines is trying to sustain the momentum or even win that coveted crown. But this year, there is no known front runners unlike in 2010 where Venus Raj is the darling of the crowd and in 2011 when the Shamcey vs. Patricia feud was intense. This year, it seems that the prize is just up for the grabs by any contestant.

Patrica Lae Ejercitado is the face that Miss Universe is looking for

But if Bb. Pilipinas is serious in sustaining its accomplishments for the past two years, it must either crown Patrica Lae Ejercitado or Mary Jean Lastimosa. These two delegates are the only viable options for the country. Patricia Lae is the beautiful, very Filipina, dark beauty that could turn heads at Miss Universe. Her skin tone and Gloria Diaz-esque lips are her main weapons. Her height could be her Achilles' heel along with her lack of communication skills but fierce walk on the ramp and seven months of training can push this girl notches higher. Bb. Pilipinas has mastered the art of polishing and they have a good gem to polish with Patricia Lae.

Meanwhile, Mary Jean Lastimosa is also an excellent choice. She is familiar with the process of Shamcey's transformation last year. MJ was seen often alongside Shamcey during the latter's trainings in the Philippines effectively making MJ as an apprentice. Her experience is definitely very valuable. She also boasts a banging body and this could be her main asset at Miss Universe.
