Nineteen-year-old Filipino-Swedish equestrian and model Kimberly Karlsson (9) was crowned Miss Grand Philippines 2014 during the finals held Saturday night, August 16, at the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, in Diliman, Quezon City.
Karlsson, who hails from Oriental Mindoro, will represent the country in the second edition of Miss Grand International 2014 to be held on October 7th in Bangkok Thailand. She was also awarded Best in National Costume.
First runner-up was Rosevemme Marie Fajardo (7) of Surigao del Sur. Mary Theresa Erna Gomez (15) of Tarlac placed second runner-up and was awarded Best in Long Gown. Winners of other special awards are Ana Reniva (3, Miss Friendship), Ivy Meery Enriquez (1, Miss Photogenic) and Jean Marie Feliciano (11, Best in Swimwear).
Completing the Top 10 finalists are: 8 Hydra Desiree Betito, 11 Jean Marie Feliciano, 5 Cynthia Caldona, 17 Maria Jessica Oribe, 1 Ivy Meery Enriquez, 3 Rosanna Andrea Reniva, and 13 Apple Ann Michelle Bartolome.
The reigning Miss Grand International Janelee Chaparro of Puerto Rico and MGI owner and president Nawat Itsaragrisil attended the inaugural staging of the pageant.
