She's a 19 year-old high school student
Describe the village or place where
you grew up? Manzanillo
in Colima is a quiet small city. Most of the year it is humid
and hot and it is a seismic area but there are barely
noticeable earthquakes. The most important economic activities
include tourism. People from all over Mexico and the world come
to visit during summer because we have beautiful beaches and hotels.
We have also the most important port of Mexico in the Pacific Ocean.
Fishing is also important. People in Manzanillo are hard working
and friendly and if you come for a visit, we will try to make
you feel at home. How
would you describe yourself to the world? I’m
very positive, intelligent and simple person. I like to be balanced
physically, emotionally and spiritually. I’m a dreamer but it
doesn’t stop there. I work hard to make my dreams come true. That
is also why I have a strong attitude towards life.
My country has 104 million inhabitants. We have 10 million Native Americans who speak more than 62 different languages and belong to many ethnic groups and tribes like the Mayas, Totonacas, Nahuas, Aztecs, etc. Besides them, most of the Mexicans are a mix of races from all around the world but mainly European and Native American. Our main religion is Catholic but we tolerate all religions. You can also find here all kinds of climates and we have different ecosystems like mountains, forests and jungles, deserts, and beaches. The most important thing is that you will feel at home here at Mexico because Mexican people are very friendly. You will definitely get to know all our natural and cultural treasures.
Did you always dream to become Miss Mexico or did you have some ambitions as a child?
Since I was a child,
I always dreamed about being in an international contest representing
my country. I also dreamed about traveling around the world because
that would give me an opportunity to learn more things about other
countries’ cultures, people and their way of thinking. I was selected directly to represent my state of Colima to the
Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2006.
How would you define beauty? For me, beauty is the balance between the physical and spiritual aspect of a person. I think that every human being is unique and beautiful. I also find beauty expressed in nature. At any given moment what would your handbag contain? My bag would have a cereal bar, a yogurt, some make up (gloss,
liner and blush), pen and organizer, wallet, perfume, cellular
phone, glasses, pocketbook, family pictures, ipod, toothpaste
and a toothbrush. How would you see yourself someday
- a family oriented wife or a career woman? In the short term,
I see myself as a successful career woman doing what I like. In
the long term, when the right time comes, I see myself with a
beautiful family formed by two children and a wonderful husband.
I would like to combine these two very important aspects of a
woman’s life. What is your reaction to the motto of Miss World “Beauty with a Purpose”.
It’s
a motto which changes the people’s concepts. Now the physical
image is not the only important thing. Miss World is also looking
for the inner beauty which includes intelligence, work ethics,
social responsibility and a service-oriented attitude, to ensure
that the winner is a well-rounded person and a dignified representative
of the women from around the world. Lastly, what is your message to Missosology.Org's website visitors?
I would like to thank you all
for this important space that will allow people from around the
world to know me not just through my pictures but also through
my way of thinking. Thanks a lot for your support and your comments.
Your constructive comments will definitely help me improve myself. Special thanks to Nuestra Belleza de Mexico Organization especially to Ofelia Correa. All the best to Carolina from Missosology. |
