Alyssa Cruz Aguero is beautiful but when matched to the international standards she may come off as plain. Surprisingly, she is quite tall at 5’11″. She has a relatively short time to prepare for the December contest and I don’t see her improving much. Guam is yet to win the Miss Universe crown and Patty Chong Kerkos, Miss Universe 1982 1st runner-up, was never matched by any Guamanian beauty. It will be another year when Guam will just be a “clapper” as many of my colleagues would have preferred another candidate to represent the small US territory.
Missosology
Alyssa deserved the title for this years Miss Universe Guam/International Guam Pageant. If you were present in the audience, Alyssa was a total standout, with her height, her beauty, her body, and evening gown. If you’re talking about another candidate such as Chanel Cruz Jarett, she was not ready at all. She lacked posture, fiercness, and didn’t do that great in Q & A. Alyssa is 24 and she gave it her best. From someone who was very conservative and didn’t wear a dress, or make-up, or was very very shy, she and her team, Kyle Ramirez, Ray Santos, along with the help of Miss Earth Guam 2010, Naiomie Santos, transformed her into a beauty queen who will represent Guam well in the 2012 Miss Universe pageant! Chanel will use Miss International as a stepping stone and rejoin the Miss Universe Guam Pageant when she is properly trained and mature enough. I’m waiting for more photos from pageant night, because ALYSSA was THE BEST!
Im not sure how you can rate this contestant on eloquence unless you have seen video of how she speaks and articulates her thoughts. From what I hear, she has a great command of the English language.
