I can quite vividly remember when Holly was crowned as Miss Universe Great Britain, I stared at the photos of her with previous winners. There’s Chloe Beth Morgan looking great but short in height. There’s Tara Hoyos looking Latina but lacks sparkle. And there’s Claire Cooper looking, forgive my eyes, voluptuous. And of the plain Lisa Lazarus is there too. If there is anything that can be learned from this tableau of beauties, it is that Holly Hale, Miss Universe GB 2012, is the stand-out and hence the best British contestant at Miss Universe in recent memory. The glory of Britain is over at the pageant. Gone are the days when Englishwomen and Welsh and Scottish beauties normally land on the Top 5. These days, the image of Great Britain is declining at Miss Universe. And Holly might save it. I really hope she will. She has the face and body but serious training to make her more of a beauty queen is necessary. I say good luck to her.
