When you ask someone from the Philippines in his or her 60s, chances are he or she could remember Maureen Ava Vieira. If you ask pageant fanatics in their 30s, they would surely remember Taryn Mansell. That basically sums up the campaign of Aruba at Miss Universe. They would land at the semis on rare occasions but they would leave an indelible mark. Liza Helder could be that Aruban beauty that will leave a long lasting positive impression among beauty watchers. It’s a 50-50 though. Some see her as a beautiful girl capable of being in the semis and some say that she is a plain Jane. My judgment is that Liza will have a potential to be in the semis if she will be styled properly.
The general impression that I have with Liza is that she has a lot of potential and one has to wait until she arrives in Las Vegas to truly appreciate the totally of her beauty. My suggestion though is that she should keep her hair down and keep it wavy. Also, she should watch out for her figure. That being said, Liza is in my darkhorse list considering the stiff competition. I remembered how Zizi Lee simply faltered despite being a first princess at Miss World. It could mean one thing – Aruba is also hampered by sash factor.

I saw her recent pictures, and I have to say that she has improved a lot! I hope she makes the cut!
