They hosted the Miss Universe pageant but they are yet to win a crown, Ecuador can surprise us this 2008. Like most of Latin American countries, beauty pageants in Ecuador have large following and needless to say a crown in Vietnam will bring great jubilation to this Andean nation. Domenica Saporiti has this big task to bring home the honor and here she is as she reveals herself to Missosology.Org.
I am a very mature, simple, strong, and firm woman with a lot of will to succeed in life. I was born in the beautiful city of Guayaquil in Ecuador to a family full of love. My family gave me the best and all kinds of advice for my own good and the best education they could provide. My hobbies are sports; I am a TV sport producer in my country. I am a fan of soccer. I watch all of them.
I am enjoying every single moment of my preparations in every single way possible for the Miss Universe 2008. Every single step I took with regards to my preparation, I do it out of love and dedication. It takes lots of sacrifices. I always think of my country, my people, and how good am I going to represent them in Vietnam. I know I can do it.
Yes, my country did not have the opportunity to win a crown yet. I certainly don't feel pressured. I will make myself noticed in Vietnam and let everyone know that Ecuador is present and that I am giving the best of me. Bringing the crown for my country will be a triumph in my life and would bring happiness to my country.
One of the best experiences that I encountered during Miss Ecuador was the quality time and the things I learned from the other 18 delegates. I really felt very comfortable with them. Another great experience was to go around and visit different cities of my country, and to feel the welcoming warmth of the people as they show to us their love and support.
Yes, I participated in a contest for a very prestigious magazine in my country in which they were looking for the girl of the season. I won the second place. I also participated in Model of Models in Madrid.
I would tell my fellow contestants, to the people, to the Miss Universe organization, and to the world, that although Ecuador is the smallest of all the Andean countries, it holds historical, cultural and natural wonders befitting for an entire continent. My country has lots to offer: large variety of foods, diverse climates, the Galapagos Islands, the mountains, and especially the Amazon. I would also tell them that Quito is the only city in which all 4 seasons can occur in one day, and if they will visit it, it would be an experience that they will not regret.
With God nothing is impossible or unreachable.
In my opinion, a beauty pageant is a contest of excellence, hoping to find the best exponent of beauty far beyond the physical aspects. It does not devalue women by any point of view but rather it values women based on their capacities. I therefore think that beauty pageants do not run in collision course with feminists’ views.
I am a person with positive attitude that tries to enjoy my life to the maximum day by day. Miss Universe 2008 is a dream comes true. I would say that my best qualities that will make me shine at the Miss Universe 2008 is my happiness and my energy to enjoy this new journey and the opportunity to meet new people around the world, and the most important of all to make Ecuador shine as well.
To all visitors of this prestigious website, big hugs and lots of kisses from an Ecuadorian that is doing and giving all her best to give her country the happiness of having its first Miss Universe.
