The reigning Miss World, Wenxia Yu, was in Mumbai, India for a series of appearances and events. Netizens however, began criticizing the beauty queen when she arrived at the airport looking in a rather unflattering fashion. Nevertheless, Wenxia successfully attended several worthwhile events including a fund raising marathon. Here's the official report from Miss World:

Miss World Yu Wenxia and Miss World Chairman Julia Morley took part in the Mumbai Marathon on Saturday, India’s biggest marathon event. With jubilant crowds lining the streets, the pair were joined by India’s national winner Vanya Mishra, and together as a team they entered the charity 5km run, in support of the Muktangan Education Centre, the centre where Vanya’s support won her the Beauty with a Purpose Award at the 2012 Miss World competition.

Under the blazing Indian sun, The Miss World delegates entertained the crowds and cheered on the elite marathon runners from the Muktangan Cheer Zone before following in their wake in the shorter charity 5km event. Joining Miss World at the Cheer Zone were Indian VJ Ramona Arena, the Muktangan choir, and a whole host of musicians, dancers and DJ’s to create a vibrant atmosphere.

The event was a huge success, helping to raise funds and awareness for Muktangan and giving everyone involved a fun day out.

Wenxia also later attended the 58th Annual Filmfare Awards Ceremony - one of the most glamorous event in India. Wenxia is joined by the Chairperson of the Miss World organization Julia Morley as well as Miss World India 2012 Vanya Mishra.
