And it is not only because her reign is set to be the longest. It seems Miss Universe is now all fired up. After an opinion piece about her boring reign came out, the lovely Leila seems to be going places - in national pageants where normally you don't see a reigning Miss Universe.

The subtleness of how African culture is depicted on patterns at the top of Leila costume that invokes animal prints is commendable. The quasi and what it seemed lengthened ala-ballerina skirts can divide opinions but the faux jewels all over made the piece elegant.

Indonesia and her native Angola was an SOP but she did grace the Gabonaise event and now Leila is visiting Dominican Republic and then Bahamas. Are we seeing exciting times ahead? Let's hope so because skipping Miss Russia is a huge mistake even if the excuse that she is booked somewhere else is legit. NO ONE should skip Miss Russia - that's the rule. But what Leila is missing in "quality" she is poised to compensate with "quantity". If she follows that trajectory, she might as well be hailed as the most famous Miss Universe. And oh, isn't it great to track down her wardrobes every coronation night?

And Leila should be in places where she is needed most. The national pageant of Jamaica is a must see for it is under new management and Leila could relate with the black beauties of the Caribbean nation. Expect to see her at Miss Universe Thailand 2012 contest where a new set up is in place. Finger's crossed she will be invited at I Am She just to counterbalance Ivian's appearance at Femina Miss India and Leila should set her eyes on China - a huge, untapped market ready for exploitation.

Going places, meeting people, showing up in great outfits...Leila should do something to stop the fans - and herself - from getting boring and perhaps in the process, she will become the most travelled and well publicized Miss Universe ever.
