The Mistake

There is one big mistake that some of the fans, our visitors and even journalists usually make – they get confused about “Hot Picks” with our predictions! Predictions of course, as the name suggest, are our attempts to preempt that outcome of the pageant. Hot Picks on the other hand is a barometer of some sorts on who among the delegates are standing out in the crowd due to their exemplary performance and extraordinary looks and talents.

crème de la crème

Miss Venezuela Ly Jonaitis is currently on top of the Hot Picks. For several weeks our Hot Picks swings drastically from Miss Korea months before the season to Miss Ukraine and to Miss Estonia.

Now, here comes Ly, fresh, confident, stunning and absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous. Forget about politics for beauty transcends all adversities. Forget last year’s dismal performance; Ly is here to charm us all.

Ly is a favorite among the Mexican audience and she got a real boost to her confidence. Win or loose, Ly shined in this year’s edition of Miss Universe!

After Miss Venezuela, here’s the upper 5 of the Top Picks.

From nowhere comes Greece, a top favorite to win the crown due to her stunning looks and curvaceous body. Next is sexy and confident South Africa, touted as sure semi-finalists. She got a great blonde hair and a leggy physique sure to turn everyone’s head.

At the top of Hot Picks for several days Ukraine is our controversial choice. But look at her naïve, youthful look! Miss Estonia on the other hand banks on her tall, sexy figure and she’s got a natural beauty too! Miss Argentina Daniela Stucan is perhaps the most experienced of all the delegates (she participated at Miss Earth and landed a runner-up position) and she looks confident and well-trained.

Miss Spain Natalia Zabala is popular in Mexico thanks largely to the strong Hispanic relationships forged by history, culture, language and religion. But Natalia is not relying on these. She’s got what it takes to be a Miss Universe!

Miss India Puja Gupta could be a sure winner at interviews but this lady got the looks too. She may lack the spunk of say Gul Panag or Aishwarya Rai but carrying a sash emblazoned with word India is a huge plus.

Miss Russia is spunky, gorgeous and alluring. She is one of the delegates that aroused the attention of the Mexican audience.

Of course, let’s not forget the local girl Rosa Ma. Ojeda. Being the local girl has its own advantages but Rosa could shine regardless which country is hosting the Miss Universe now!

Forget the boos and set your sights to the crown girl! Rachel Smith of USA is hot and no one has the right to deny it!

The lower four composed of three Asians and one African.

Miss Japan Riyo Mori created a lot of splash for her several attention catching antics including claiming that Miss Philippines said that the latter is not Asian! She also exudes great fashion taste. She wore fashionable wardrobe almost every moment.

Miss Korea Lee Ha-nui has an absolutely adorable face. She’s poised and was able to grab lots and lots of attention.

A very divisive figure, Miss Tanzania Flaviana Matata is sporting a very unconventional look at the pageant. With shaved hair but with leggy physique and a cute angelic face, everyone seems to be unable to agree on which category she belongs. By stirring and shaking up some traditions in the pageant, Flaviana earned a slot at our hot picks!

Last and of course the least in the list is Miss Thailand Farung Yuthithum. Her height towers the rest in many of the photo shoot (She’s not the tallest though. Miss Australia Kimberly Busteed earns that honor). With that plus her cute face and flawless skin, she’s an absolute attention grabber.
