Gowns

Miss Brazil Natalia Guimaraes walked in sheer heaven aboard, it seems, on a gleaming chariot. The silver beaded gown is the best wardrobe of the evening so far and it couldn’t be more amazing that a charming woman is wearing it. Hands down, Natalia aced the gown segment.

Miss Kazakhstan Gauhar Rakhmetalieva’s black and white gown is by far the worst edging Miss Zambia’s yellow and black wardrobe by a small margin. Gauhar looks as if she’s not competing at Miss Universe. Rather, it looks like she’s in a Halloween costume or as an extra in the funeral scene of the movie Evita.

Swimsuit

She’s curvaceous and proud to show it off in two-suit while she’s tall and quite shy to bare her body. She walks elegantly. She walks rather awkward. That’s the differences of Miss Brazil Natalia Guimaraes – our best in swimsuit – and Miss Australia Kimberly Busteed – our worst.

Natalia wowed us for skills in catwalk and while many think that other delegates are better in this segment, we would beg to differ. In swimsuit, Natalia rocks!

We are sorry for Kimberly of course. She’s a far cry from Miss Universe 2004 Jennifer Hawkins. Sure, there are delegates with poor body structure and unpolished walking skills but it is Kimberly who is the most awkward of them all.

National Costumes

Miss South Africa Megan Coleman managed to fuse tradition and modernity. Although she chose a South African wardrobe with all the accessories (love her version of bangles) she still managed to look sexy. We also love the intricate beads in the bust and skirt area.

Miss Guyana Meleesea Payne looks like a shaman in trance and even if it was meant to be a shaman costume at least they could put a touch of sexiness and modernity in there. The white furry vines draped over her is a disaster and we strongly believe that there are far more better traditional costumes in Guyana than this.

Quotable Quote

“[It is better]…to follow what you think is true to your heart”
