Waratthaya Wongchayaporn is a delegate that Missosology.org tagged as the next Miss Earth days prior the finals night. The assessment is completely with basis because Waratthaya had been winning several pre-finals contests. She was a crowd favorite and only the local girl did better in this category. At group 3, she was the bronze medalist in the Resorts Wear competition and a silver medalist at the Evening Gown competition. On top of that she placed silver overall in the Photogenic Online Poll and the winner of the National Costume contest. With all these achievements how could Miss Earth exclude Waratthaya from the semis?
Could it be possible that height is her downfall? Hardly, as Miss Venezuela is just a half inch taller than her. Maybe some attitude problem? Unlikely, as Waratthaya was a nice woman with a very accommodating attitude. Politics? Barely, as Philippines and Thailand enjoy a good political relationship. Perhaps, Philippines doesn't like to appear as if it is paying back for several victories of the country in Thailand (a male and a transsexual pageant). Or perhaps it is because this is the Miss Earth pageant and it has its own taste and criteria that we can't fully fathom or appreciate. Like Jamillette Gaxiola or Šárka Cojocarová, Waratthaya Wongchayaporn was out of the semis, the reasons of which still still difficult to grapple. Nevertheless, Waratthaya can held her head up high knowing that all her achievements are worth more than the crown.
