A 19 year old Foreign Trade student from Cao Bang Province has been hailed as Miss World Vietnam 2019. Luong Thuy Linh, in her emerald evening dress, smiled broadly as she was bestowed with the crown and over US$100, 000 worth of prizes. She will represent Vietnam in the upcoming Miss World pageant which will be held in London on December 14.
Vietnam first participated at Miss World in 2002 and its representative Pham Thi Mai Phuong made it to the semifinals. No Vietnamese beauty queen has won the crown to date. Last year its candidate Trần Tiểu Vy was among the Top 30.
This year’s Miss World Vietnam contest culminated in Da Nang on August 3 after a month long of activities. A total of 39 candidates vied for the crown. Nguyen Ha Kieu Loan from Quang Nam province was the first runner-up while Nguyen Tuong San from Hanoi was named the second runner-up.
