Dressed in a blue and white floral print dress, the reigning Miss World Rolene Strauss of South Africa touched down in her home country amid the raucous crowd with colorful costumes and welcome signs. Rolene arrived in OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg today. December 20, at around 10 am local time.
She was welcomed by various celebrities including South Africa’s first ever Miss World, Penny Coelen-Rey (photo below at left), who won the title in 1958. The Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula led the government delegation and accommodated Rolene with a ceremony in a special stage erected within the airport premises.
