It’s official! The International Cultural Association (ICA), the organizer of the Miss International Beauty Pageant, has announced that the 59th Miss International will start on October 25th. The final gala will be held on November 12th at the Tokyo Dome City Hall.
Dubbed as one of the three most important and historical beauty events in the world, the Miss International Beauty Pageant traces its roots way back in 1960 when the pageant was first held in Long Beach, California. Currently, it calls Tokyo as its home, with ICA chairperson Ms. Akemi Shimomura of the spa company Miss Paris Group, leading the association since 2013.
More than 80 delegates from all over the world are expected to participate in the 19-day pageant activities. Aside from Tokyo, the delegates will visit Niigata Prefecture and other regional destinations. Traditional highlights of the pageant include a tea ceremony lesson, ikebana experience and visit to a Japanese public high school.
Venezuela’s Mariem Velazco will crown her successor during the final night. The ongoing motto of the pageant is “Cheer All Women”. / Shota Ise
