MISS INT'L CONTESTANTS BEAUTY TALKS BACKSTORY PEOPLE'S CHOICE

  Mathilde Muller, Miss France International

Mathilde Muller is a woman that can be considered as a complete package taking into account the Miss International perspective. But that depends on which side of the fence are you. Sweet looking, graceful and sexy, there are two camps out there that see Mathilde into a two different way - one positive, the other negative. For those who sow negative thoughts for her, the fact that she is just a 5th runner-up evoke that usual shrug that says she is not good enough. For those who harbor good opinions on Mathilde, it is easy to point out that she is in many ways similar to the reigning queen and someone did point out, Mathilde does look like Miley Cyrus. [Really?]

In a pensive mood.

The facial features of Mathilde can stir up the internal tug-of-war of ones emotions. On the good side, the sweet looks of Mathilde is not really the kind of face that would guarantee her the title but she has the look that Miss International had been trending towards in recent years. Her beautiful large eyes and well-curved smile and high cheekbones however, can allow her to easily slip into the semifinals. On the bad side, the sweet looks of Mathilde had been dubbed too innocent and too naive and that her face did not really wake up the imagination of beauty connoisseurs.

In a pensive mood, again!

Seeing that there are still doubts on how her physical aspects can make a mark at the Miss International 2009 contest, it is suffice to say that Mathilde deserves an 8.7

Mathilde's sweetness does show off in her catwalk skills. There is certainly some few points to improve like finding the right ingredients so she will come up a little confident - not too much confidence tough, just enough to show you are comfortable in your skin. This is something lacking on Mathilde during the Miss France contest but it is never too late to improve this aspect. It is actually the easiest part to improve. Recent photos of Mathilde also indicate that she had worked hard to improve her level of comfort in the catwalk. In her poses in still photos that were recently bared, Mathilde is more ready than ever to win the Miss International 2009 title.
Mathilde's scorecard in this area: 8.90

Secret weapon?
Ever wonder why a fifth runner-up was sent to compete at Miss International 2009? Maybe because Mathilde has some "wow" factor that we are yet to see but her handlers are confident of. But it is a known fact that Mathilde speaks Chinese and the pageant is going to be in China all the time. It is an absolute plus factor that she can speak the local language and she need to impress as many people as she can with her skill. Caution though if she is just a novice with the Chinese language since it is complicated with six tones. With the same words but of different tone can lead into an interview or even casual conversation disaster.

It is very likely that the crowd would be amazed by a foreigner speaking their national tongue. On the other hand there is no assurance that Mathilde can use this on the finals as not all the judges or even the crowd can even understand a wee bit of Chinese. Nevertheless, this is a good skill that deserves a 9.15

Missosology.Org recommends:
A final touch up before Mathilde jets to China. She needs to perk up her finesse and learn on where to successfully apply her skills and talents. She should be sweet looking but should learn to toughen up when needed especially since this year's edition of Miss International is particularly laden with strong competitors. Mathilde needs to build a good confidence and never be intimidated by other contestants.

From the History Notebook

Sophie PerinIn 1976, Sophie Perin brought to France its first and so far the only Miss International crown. But unlike Mathilde, Sophie had a strong international exposure before competing in the pageant. Sophie represented France at the 1975 edition of both Miss Universe and Miss World. She was unplaced in both pageants but surely her experience had been a huge plus for her.

This is something that Mathilde lacks but she can compensate her inexperience in the international arena by believing in herself. Believing in yourself builds confidence and in confidence, you'll get a better chance to win the Miss International crown.
