Jessica Kahawaty e-mailed Missosology personally announcing that she will represent Lebanon at Miss International 2008. She's hot and ready to give every Miss International 2008 delegate a strong competition. Lebanon is one of the only two Asian countries with Miss International crown (The other country is the Philippines with 4 crowns). Christina Sawaya won it in 2002. Will the beautiful Jessica eventually add one crown for Lebanon?

Two new delegates were chosen recently. New Zealand will send Rhonda Grant (left) to Miss International 2008 after finishing as second runner-up at Miss New Zealnd Universe contest. She however faced some criticism earlier in May after the website of Massey University, her alma mater, published the news with her photo in a bikini kneeling in a surf. The Association of University staff made scathing critiscisms in their website in an article entitled, "Come to Massey University and you, too, can become eye candy....". The association dismissed the victory of Rhonda as banal.
Meanwhile, Mongolia, O. Khulangoo emerged as a winner in the Miss Mongolia contest earning the right to represent the Asian country. The pageant was held in capital city of Ulaan Baatar in September 17 participated by more than a hundred candidates from all over Mongolia.

After years of hiatus, Miss Macau came into life and it is just logical since they will be hosting the event. The winner in a pageant held in September 7 is Florence Loi.
Florence, 23, is a Marketing Operations Trainer and hopes to be an influential figure that contributes to the goodwill of the society. She loves sports, likes to listen to musics and to travel. She is also interested in historical art and heritage.
Miss Macau has never been held since 1998. The last Miss Macau Agnes Lo was present during the official press conference in March 12th at Venetian Macau where the venue and date of the Miss International 2008 was announced.

Renny Lacle of Miss Aruba told Missosology.Org with regards to the rumors (see item below) that there was "reshuffling of delegates". Renny told Missosology that the contestants were told exactly on which international pageant they will go. So make no mistake, Nuraisa Lispier is for Miss International and Christina Trejo is for Miss World.

Some speculations came out after the August 2, 2008 pageant where Dianne Croes won the Miss Aruba contest with Christina and Nuraisa as runners-up. Lots of sources published that Nuraisa will go to Miss World. This proved wrong when Renny Lacle e-mailed Missosology. Sources told us that the speculations arose since the runners-up do not have sashes during the finals night (photo above) signifying their official designation.

Aruba made some reshuffling of delegates. At least that is what we think. Nuraisa Lispier, considered by our beauty experts as a strong delegate, was allegedly supposed to be sent at Miss World 2008. In an e-mail from the Aruban national pageant organization to Missosology, Nuraisa was sent to Miss International 2008 instead. Another beauty, Christina Trejo, considered by some beauty experts as "plain", will go to Miss World 2008 instead.

Promociones Gloria recently announced that Laura Olivaria (photo above) will no longer represent Bolivia at Miss International 2008 due to the age requirements set by the pageant. She will instead compete on Miss International 2009. Bolivia will now be represented by Paula Peñarrieta who represented the region of Cochabamba in the Bolivian national contest.
