You could say that the main problem in my country is deforestation. They have cut trees indiscriminately so this affects the water table, climate and environmental health. The activity reduces and degrades the soil and attacks the boom of tourism, and we all know that without water we cannot conceive life. Deforestation endangers the existence of water needed for the population.
I believe that the solutions that could help change the injustices being committed against the environment shall begin with the creation of programs that raise awareness of the human race, official projects of reforestation, planting trees and global campaigns.
I spent a day cleaning in a park in my country and a day of reforestation in the loma Quita Espuela reserve. We also launched a capsule carrying a message for all citizens with the plan of trying to raise awareness among humanity through an enviromental TV program and conducted an exhibit on protection of natural resources by informing people of the importance of the preservation of the forest. I am also a member Quisquella Green which seeks the imprisonment of people that committed illegal deforestation. The group also helps beautify the environment by planting trees. This is made possible through the participation and organization of the Global Foundation President of the Dominican Republic Dr. Leonel Fernandez. Also lectures were given at diferent educational institutions in the country.
The most important thing a woman should have to be beautiful is to be full of values and have faith in God in order to preserve Mother Earth. The beautiful resources are given by the Creator. A woman is a gift from God and Earth is our mother as such, we must love and respect people.
We hope to see all the projects in Manila that are pro-environment, learn new culture, customs and beautiful tourist sites. I also expect to meet up close the local flora and fauna and try to bring any bit of help for their preservation. As a representative of Dominican Republic, I will give all the best of my beautiful island and wave the flag proudly for my homeland and country!
We are all receiving signals that the destruction of the enviroment have been caused by us human beings. We do not realize that we are more concerned about ourselves than for our Mother Earth. We needs Mother Earth for our future children. We must be aware and be more generous with this gift of nature that God has placed in our hands. Clear your conscience and start helping the Mother Earth.
