The Best and The Worst of Miss Earth 2002

miss philippines

The best in gown is a simple blue violet piece. The cloth has a soft effect on its wearer Miss Philippines April Ross Perez. She was able to project the charm of her gown through a much simplier and demure moves. The best qualities of her gown include its simplicity, good choice of color (it stands out from the rest) and the good cut (sexy on the top lightly hugging the body). No wonder this gown grabbed the best score that night.

Speaking of the worsts, we've seen some bad choice of colors and some bad cut but in an overall impression, Miss Earth is so far the pageant with the most beautiful cloths surpassing those we've seen at Miss Universe and Miss International 2002. Miss Bosnia and Herzegovina Dzejla Glavovic may be the winner but is the wearer of one of the no-nos at beauty pageants: wearing a hat! Ditch the hat lady for how are they suppose to crown you with that? (They of course removed it) But just in case any other delegate would dare follow her hat-steps, we instantly made her as the one who has the worst gown at Miss Earth 2002.

miss belguim

Miss Belguim Stephanie Moreel is the classic example of "What you see, is what you don't get"! Her picture at the may sway the general audience to conclude that she is a blonde full of spunk but then at final's night, Stephanie appeared to be a full bodied woman due to her relatively smaller height and some additional pounds, that God knows when and where, she earned. She's, unfortunately, our worst swimsuit wearer.

miss colombia

On the other hand, no contest! Miss Colombia Diana Botero which was hailed by the judges to be the best in swimsuit is also our top choice for this category.

miss britain
The Worst National Costume
Miss Great Britain Louise Glover
1. For being ludicrously revealing.
2. For using the overused Union Jack (she looks like a Reebok image model).
3. For lack of cultural significance and representation.
4. For using the flag as her wardrobe in a country that prohibits its own to be treated just like that.
5. For not being reminded that this is the National Costume contest and that the Swimsuit Contest was scheduled a bit earlier.
miss china

The Best in National Costume should go to Miss China Zhang Mei for appropriately using red--- China's color of joy and celebration and of course communism and for utilizing the sexy cut. It's cultural significance, of course, is there (notice the unique hat) and the way she carries it amplify the costume's beauty.

A point to ponder

"....stop talking and start acting."

Miss Bosnia and Herzegovina Dzejla Glavovic on her final interview. The question was supposed to ask on what she does like to see the sunset or the sunrise but went a little astray from the topic by discussing environmental protection.
