Statistics and data are a key part of any competitive events, pageants alike. Under the Big 4 Pageants Rankings We have been trying to aggregate performances over the years. This Big 4 ranking was envisioned and spearheaded by Stephen Diaz, Missosology's three-time correspondent for Miss International. The purpose of this ranking is to present the total strength of each nation/territory using as much objectivity as possible. Broader access to these data allow users and fan groups to with better pageants' understanding and measure improvements and performances more accurately. Missosology provides free and open access to a comprehensive set of data about the major pageants, countries participating and the contestants, together with other datasets cited in the data catalog.
Missosology recognizes that transparency and accountability are essential to the performance analysis and central to the viability of the idea of Pageants as a Science. Missosology's commitment to openness is also driven by a desire to foster public ownership, partnership and participation in analysis from a wide range of stakeholders.
Missosology does not include pageants that lacks public backing hence any of these pageants may be downgraded if situation requires. All Big4 pageants are treated equal.
We will continue to add to the databases available and welcome suggestions on how we can improve the site for users.
