Miss Paraguay Yanina Gonzalez, Miss Guatemala Marva Weatherborn, Miss Venezuela Ana Karina Anez
Authorized members of the press were given the chance to meet the Miss Universe candidates this time after a tight and off-hand security measures that prevented them from getting up-close to the girls. The
Delegates' Luncheon with the press at Quinta Lucrecia, Cuenca this afternoon fired up the pageant with all delegates showing off their best assets to accredited journalists and photographers.
None of Trump's assets are not as much in demand this time with the attendance of incredibly tall, striking and diverse women competing for one title- Miss Universe 2004. The beauties who appealed intensely to the Ecuadorians and the media came from the pageant powerhouses-
Miss USA, Shandi Finnessey and Miss Venezuela, Ana Karina Anez. As if no candidate can put in shade the brilliance and allure of Miss USA, and the vivaciousness and can we say, the makeover of Miss Venezuela. Following so closely is the ever popular hometown girl,
Miss Ecuador, Maria Susana Rivadeneira and Miss Peru, Liesel Holler. Take note that the aforementioned beauties' heights are all 5"11. It seems that this year's batch is composed of very tall yet striking girls like
Miss Bolivia Gabriela Oviedo,
Miss Brazil Fabiane Niclotti and Miss Ukraine Aleksandra Nikolayenko. They can easily overshadow the not-so-tall delegates.
Miss Greece Valia Kakouti and Miss Paraguay Yanina Gonzalez have flawless features, grace and class that go with the Miss Universe standards. Expect them to do well in the competition. Another surprise
was Miss Poland, Paulina Panek who is being compared to popular model Elsa Benitez. Always putting their best foot forward are the veterans,
Miss Norway Kathrine Sorland, Miss Aruba Zizi Lee and Miss Philippines Maricar Balagtas. They need extra effort in order to be at par in the
Miss Universe contest. The ladies with great fashion sense of style are Miss Japan
Eri Machimoto, Miss Guatemala
Marva Weatherborn
and Miss Switzerland Bianca Sissing. Catch them in trendy dresses that accentuate their exquisiteness.
The candidates' hope of bringing home the Miss Universe crown this year comes with a test of fate, character, luck and strategy. Beyond doubt, the 2004 batch is of high caliber. National directors are now familiar with Trump's standards. Several candidates this year look marketable, world-class and have what it takes join the ranks of hot supermodels! The June-1 Finals
is anyone's game.

greeted the people along the sidewalks. The atmosphere was full of
lively music that some of them weren't able to resist dancing.
