TOP 15 Predictions
Miss Universe 2004: Miss Venezuela, Ana Karina
Añez
It's in the record!
Venezuela is already an undisputed powerhouse by steadily making
Miss Universe semifinal cuts since 1983 and by penetrating the TOP 6
since 1991. Any manner you slice it comes the final night tomorrow, Ana
Karina will come up on top. She always manages to look simply
stunning with her wavy locks and mesmerizing, sexy eyes that the
judges would surely find irresistible! She's got what it takes in
more ways than one. We smell another crown for Venezuela after
Alicia Machado’s feat in 1996.
1st Runner-up: Miss United States of America,
Shandi Finnessey
Shandi will
be the main reason of Americans to tune into Miss Universe pageant
and boost its expanding ratings. We just adore her cheery eyes, her
ultra fit body, and the way she gives straight-thought answers.
Nobody can deny her presence- speaking of her glowing aura for the
evening gown presentation and those rock-hard abs for the swimsuit
competition. What's the best part? She is very capable of winning
the Miss Universe plum.
 2nd Runner-up: Miss Paraguay, Yanina
Gonzalez
Yanina is the top
favorite of Missosology.Org, but in our predictions this year, we
won't base it on favorites (our last year's top pick, Marisol
Gonzalez of Mexico failed to make the cut). We don't say that we're
not confident of Yanina (whose striking beauty became a hit to the
Ecuadorians, press and fans), in fact, we believe that she can give
Paraguay its 1st Miss Universe crown.
 3rd Runner-up: Miss Philippines, Maricar
Balagtas
Right after the
preliminaries, our panel concluded that Maricar can be the
Philippines' dream come true. The spectators at CEMEXPO stadium went
gaga over this Filipina’s refined display of evening gown. If she
makes it as a semifinalist, there’d be no doubts that she can make
it all the way to the top!
 4th Runner-up: Miss Greece, Valia
Kakouti
Here comes the
hypnotic Greek beauty, Valia. She stood out in all occasions and
became in demand to photographers. She's become a well-positioned
candidate after unassailable performances since her arrival in Quito
up to the preliminaries.
TOP 6-10
 Top 6: Miss Ecuador, Susana
Rivadeneira
This hometown girl
became the best representative of her country just in time for their
hosting of the biggest pageant in the world. Susana is a great
professional model and proved it during the Miss Universe Fashion
Show and preliminary competitions. Her great assets are her pouting
lips and tip-top shape. Ecuador is (and will be) truly proud of
her!
 Top 7: Miss Norway, Kathrine
Sorland
She knows how to carry
herself with glamour, and does so with elegant flare. A former Miss
World finalist, we already witnessed her exceptional way of speaking
her mind.
 Top 8: Miss Ukraine, Oleksandra
Nikolayenko
Her performances
were solid, her facial beauty is close to perfection and her
appearances in any event prior to the coronation night were enough
to make her the darling of the press. We are also very confident
that Oleksandra will have no problems landing in the
finals.
 Top 9: Miss Jamaica, Christine
Straw
Even without much media
frenzy, Christine has endured the stiffest competition in the entire
history of Miss Universe. This Jamaican charmer has the ability to
always appear classy and sophisticated, and she seems equally
comfortable either way. Her preliminary long gown presentation was a
great evidence of her enduring classiness.
 Top 10: Miss Colombia, Catherine
Daza
Catherine is an
unpretentious and gentle Colombian beauty who delivered a
resplendent Barraza creation with so much élan. After major upsets
in the previous years, Miss Colombia won't be left in cold in
2004.
TOP 11-15 Semifinalists
 Top 11: Miss Germany, Shermine
Sharivar
Like her name,
Shermine's features took after her German-Iranian ancestry, as
evidenced by her mocha skin, dark-brown eyes and hair. She
characterizes the spicy allure of an exotic woman, but with an added
twist: her upbringing bequeaths on her a certain sophistication that
refines her raw beauty, like a diamond after it was polished. She is
a sight to behold no matter what the angle or pose is.
 Top 12: Miss Turkey, Fatos
Segmen
Sexy, sultry, sizzling.
Fatos emerged as a hurricane of sexiness during the long gown
competition. Will she make it, given that she drew great admiration
from the press and locals?
 Top 13: Miss Bolivia, Gabriela
Oviedo
Miss Bolivia is quite a
figure-- and we are not talking about her body. Gabriela became the
most controversial among the delegates in this year's contest. Many
Bolivians despised their Miss Universe delegate for her assumed racist statements during her Preciosa Close-up interview. After her involvement in such controversy, the Miss Universe
Organization might include her in the TOP 15. Remember the
candidates in the past that drew controversies and earned a spot
(for added publicity) in the semifinals? A lot has been said about
her but we still think that she deserves a cut because of her
enigmatic beauty & sophistication.
 Top 14: Miss India, Tanushree
Dutta
Tanushree didn’t become
Miss India for nothing. Moving with calculated mystique, she sported
one of the best gowns in the preliminaries.
 Top 15: Miss Spain, Maria
Ruiz
We love everything about
her, well, except those hair extensions! Maria should’ve been in
total vogue if she opted for her new hairstyle. Nonetheless, her
personification of an irresistible mix of innocence and worldliness
is something that the judges would surely adore!
