Heaven-forbid the exclusion of goddesses like Claudia Azaeda of Bolivia, Suanny Frontaan of Dominican Republic and China’s Mei Xi Dong.
Miss Bolivia - Claudia Azaeda
The Testimony: She's a sheer emblem of a Filipino's taste for feminine beauty and persona. Bronzed skin, doe-eyes, long flowing hair and demure, you need not ask for more! Whenever she surfaces before a live audience, the Bolivian exhibits a hue of enthralling elfin quality. Her face and aura are immaculate. Michelangelo couldn't have done a better job molding a woman as perfect as Claudia. I am purely in awe of her beauty.
What went wrong?: Claudia Azaeda was shining and spellbinding during the preliminaries. She bagged a couple of awards over the 56 candidates. It is difficult to empathize why the preliminary judges overlooked her, nevertheless we can see two of her shrinking factors. First, Claudia is not tall. Her torso is not to be faulted but her height made her hips look superfluous. Second, most of her getups are tacky and it failed to put accent on her loveliness. Nonetheless, she took home a well-deserving Miss Photogenic award and the admiration of many pageant fans.
Mei Xi Dong
The Testimony: "Chinovelas" is presently a hit among Filipinos. Similar to telenovela artists who began arriving in Manila due to public demand, the Miss Earth candidate from China also made Filipinos gaga over her. Mei Xi Dong has an irresistible charm and a hint of mischief that are instantly appealing. She expertly displays her best angles and projects like a true supermodel. Fascinating both in bikini and gown, the Chinese charmer easily made it to the list of experts' favorites.
What went wrong?: The question is on her ability to make sense. She looks like an adorable doll every time she speaks but that doesn't mean she already convinced the judges. Her facial skin was ghostly white yet her make-up artist failed to flush it in pink.
Suany Frontaan
The Testimony: Swany can walk the walk and talk the talk. Some mistake her for being haughty, but if you look at the domino effect, she's simply a woman who has confidence in her abilities. She doesn't want being compared to her compatriot Amelia Vega since she knows how to flaunt herself too, and that makes her undertakings much more impressive. Of course, we'll always love her fashion statements.
What went wrong?: "Don't mess with perfection," as the saying goes. I have this strong premonition that the judges were daunted by her aggressiveness and overexertion. Boy, was she a big miss in the semi-finals. Blame it on the Filipino's conservativeness.
Driva Isabela Cedeno
The Testimony: Many critics assert that Venezuela would finally make it in Miss Earth. Soaring high, Driva made her seatmate Miss USA appear like a little girl. Beauty Magician Osmel Sousa, in all probability, taught her that confidence is the name of the game. You can easily recognize her sexy Venezuelan diva deeds.
What went wrong?: It makes us think twice if Driva Isabela really cared to succeed in the pageant. Her daring move to wear t-back called attention to the not so pleasing craters in her butt.
MISS INDIA - Swetha Vijay
The Testimony: She’s only Missosology.Org's TOP 10 alternate yet a huge favorite among others. Let's pore over Shwetha.
Her exquisite eyes divulge a remarkably powerful stare, while her full lips keep her looking feisty. Shwetha's unique and exotic feature sets her apart from other beauties. Indian beauty queens are not just attractive and intelligent; they also dress like world champs too. Her awesome pink gown almost made me fall off the chair. Encrusted with crystal-beaded trim, her organza gown is on a tight rein with metallic embroideries and asymmetric neckline.
What went wrong?: Her very strong feature is upsetting up-close. Face-to-face, you'll see bare facial indentations and an elongated nose. Shwetha's beauty works well from afar but her subdued stance doesn't stir in stride. There are also certain occasions wherein Shwetha forgets to fix herself up. Her long jet-black hair goes amiss when curled.
